Easter Concert

So, let´s remember that is Easter (Lieldienas) with the best todo it in this region! dancing and singing! and if is children and youngsters doing it better than anything! yay! and if it is a free event full you can beat that the audience will be so full that there will be no free space: 

This is full in Valmiera. Never seen.

Well, the event was in a big way similar to this one but free and with much more acts and people acting. So we can have entire families and villagers in a limited space.

Kids dancing lovely folk songs!

We have again here our friendly talking Zakis as presenter. But this time, the show wasn´t "for kids only", as it was more like kids dancing folk songs most of the times, and dancing as good as adults! so that was something worth of it, really!

There was the singing part (as we remember, the most famous latvian event is about singing and dancing). The little singers had to do it off-scenary and...well, I couldn´t understand them, again. But I think they were singing about the joy that spring brings and some other happy things that nature and spring brings. Pretty sure.

Folk dancing, yes, but...

...there was also special performances (made by the sole group you see in the photo). They were no folk at all, however, but something I would call special...and not precisely bad. As we are in a place where means the coming of spring rather than other more religious background (it´s not so religious when you see how do we celebrate "Easter" in my country!) it´s nice to see a performance with plenity of spring costumes.

But in general. The rest of dance performances were folk group dancing. So nice!

And all these pictures correspond to the last act, the most complex one, which is equal to 4 like the previous ones. This last performance was very crowded where the dancers came like troops in large groups...I got to mention that the performance was called "Uz redzēšanos, Riga" so I guess it´s because Riga is the largest populated city it means that there must be a lot of people. If it´s not because that someone tell me why the reason of so many dancers in the scenary.

And this was the Easter Concert. One of the largest folk concerts held in Culture Centre during this year, I´m pretty sure. And of the most succesful for sure. Several dancing groups were from other towns such Riga.
