"Baltie bērzi”

We keep the national events of Latvia. Today on Valmiera´s Culture Centre it has taken a special event for the politically repressed men of Valmiera during the darkest years of Latvia in the last decades: The Soviet Union occupation, mainly during the 40s and 50s, where the political repression was hardest as any other following year.
To celebrate local men who were pursuited, captured and hosted on gulags or, in general terms, silenced because their ideologies during these years have gathered in choir to sing several different songs about Latvia. Most of the crew´s choir were people who usually met in the first years of Soviet domination and talked about their land and about Latvia, supporting it against a russian domination.
After the choir´s song  movie documentary was shown as well.
